How to open a DMG file in Windows

What is a DMG file? A DMG file is the MAC equivalent of ISO file in Windows. .DMG files are created by Apple to be used with a MAC operating system.

To open a .DMG file in a Windows environment, you need a converter like the UltraISO program. You can download the program in this website http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Utilities/Backup_and_Copy_Utilities/UltraISO_Download.html. UltraISO is a CD/DVD image file creating/editing/converting tool, it can directly edit the CD image file and extract files and folders from it, as well as make ISO files from your CD-ROM or hard disk. It can convert many image format to standard ISO.

After you have downloaded the program, install it in your PC and follow the steps below to convert the .DMG file to .ISO.

  1. Open UltraISO.

  2. Select File > Open.

  3. In the Open ISO file dialog box, select the .DMG file you want to convert then, click Open.

  4. The files compressed in the selected .DMG file will be displayed.

  5. Go to Tools and click Convert.

  6. In the Convert dialog box, you can choose where will the converted file be saved. Just change the output directory by typing in the destination address or by browsing. You can also select the output format of the converted file. Since we are going to convert it to .ISO file, select Standard ISO(.ISO) and click Convert. Converting process will start.

Now, you're done.

  4. Hi all,

    www.crystalidea.com/anytois

( ANYTOISO ) can convert ( MAC .DMG ) files to ( WINDOWS .ISO ) files & also EXTRACT the contents of the files. All well and good it is but the next problem we face and this is just for an example: EXECUTING a KEYGEN in other words something that must be executed cannot be done even though all these wonderfull technologies allow us to access the contents of these files which in some cases will work with windows we still cannot run files that need to be executed to operate on windows systems...?

Any Solutions For This Question People...?

.iso is for windows only and cannot be used for MAC.
.dmg is for the MAC format and i am not sure if there is a convertor to convert from .iso to .dmg.
Certain files can be used from the MAC .dmg file to work with windows like for example ( Clip Art etc ) as long as it does not have to be ( Executed or Loaded to run ).
